I found out I
had hepc 1 month after my second husband and I got married.
We have been married for 6 months so this was a big shock
to a couple of newlyweds. I immediately panicked, we have
a son who is not yet 3, he was negative of course. Then we
had my husband tested, and as we expected he too is neg. So
we have that on our sides.
Within weeks of
seeing the liver doctor for the 1st time, they scheduled a
catscan assisted biopsy. I have to say that it was not as
scary as I thought it was going to be, but a lot more painful.
That does not usually happen, but I bleed around the needle
sight and that caused the pain. I tried to go home sans pain-killers
because I am an addict, and ended up in the hospital, and
going back home with darvocet, which was great.
A few days later
my doc set up an appointment to go over the results. She was
very good in explaining exactly what everything meant, and
in detail too boot. I am grade3 , stage 3, and genotype 1b.
I was shocked I could only have come in contact with this
6 yrs ago. I lost my virginity to my husband at 23, used needles
with only him, and 2nd partner was my current husband. I recently
found out my 1st husband died of hep c, so there you go!
I am currently
getting ready to start treatment, and remain very hopeful.
I have no symptoms of this at all, and have a gut feeling
that it can only get better. Seeing is believing!
