My name is Hank,I
live in Overland Park, Ks. with my loving wife Peri. My wife
is a grade school music teacher, I'm a law enforcement officer,
and have been for twenty years. I hope I can retire in five
years to start to enjoy life with my wife.
In 1968 when I
was 17,I enlisted into the service to fight for freedom in
America, and a better way of life for the people of Viet Nam.
After a few months of being in country I took some r&r to
Japan. While there I thought I should get a couple of tattoos(big
Mistake)After my tour in the service I worked as a switchman
for a railroad for a few years but got tired of the boredom.
And joined the police force for some excitement. During those
years I did get stuck with dirty syringes more than once but
didn't think much about it.
In 1990-91 I went
to the doctor for a checkup at which time he told me that
I tested positive for hepc. He said they didn't know much
about it because it was new, and that I should get my blood
checked every so often so it was forgotten about until 1997.
By this time I had a new doctor, and he also ran a blood test
to find out what my count was. At the time it was about 2,500
so he had me take a blood test eve six months. In early 2001
he told me that my count had jumped to 11,000 so he was going
to send me to a gastro to have me checked out. He took a biopsy,
and told me I had some moderate fibrosis, and no cirrhosis.
So he put me on the Rebatron treatment which I have been on
now for eight months.
I forgot to tell
you that I have two grown sons ages 23-25 the 25 year old
, and his wife just made me a grandpa for the first time,
A beautiful granddaughter named Morgan. Well that's my story
in a nut shell I'm sure it sounds like a broken record to
everyone.
God Be With You
All, Love Hank
