It
all started about five yrs. ago when we found out that my
husband Terry had Hep.C. We didn't know much and they didn't
act like it was any big deal. Then all of a sudden he started
feeling sick all the time, like he always had the flu.
I finally
got him in the liver clinic at University Of PA. and they
put him on all kinds of meds. They helped him a great deal
but he still was unable to work.He worked as an orderly
at a hospital for 15 yrs. Over those yrs.he was stuck several
times with needles and one of those times it gave him hep.c.
He went on workmans comp. as it did happen at work and he
was able to do things around the house and shop etc. for
a long time.He was also put on the liver transplant list
which i guess you know by now a liver never came.
About
a year ago he started going downhill and was having alot
of trouble retaining fluids. Then the last couple of months
he just really fell fast.He started bleeding internally
and was in the icu unit for a week and a half. His 50th birthday
was the day he finally went out and didn't respond again.
The
next day,on 4/4/01 i lost the love of my life. He was a
wonderful husband and father.A daughter now 25 and a son
now19. He also left behind 2 grandsons who are 7 and 3.
He was a wonderful man.He was always making people laugh
even towards the end. I will miss him terribly.Near the
end he told people that i was his Angel.Well I guess now
he is mine and really is.
If i
could ask one thing of the world in his honor it would be
to donate your organs. There is a real shortage of them and
if just one had come our way my dear Terry would still be
here with me.
If i
can help anyone please contact me at kipp36@home.com
Maybe we can work together to get through these times.
God
Bless You All. Gerri
