hi, my name is
barb_e, i have hep c, been on tx.4 months now, saw my doc.yesterday,
i went from 3.5 billion in beginning of tx. and now i am coming
undected, doc wants me to stay on tx. for full year still,
i am geno type 1, it is worth doing tx. its just dealing with
side effects, at first they loaded me up with all kinds of
meds, anti-depressant, sleeping pills, besides peg-intron,
took myself off the drugs and just deal with the emotions,
i take my peg-intron, and a nausea pill thats it, and smoke
an herb which helps alot, i hated the thought of a whole year
but it is working, and i will keep fighting, it is hard road,
but my life is worth it and i want to be around to see my
daughter get married and have grandkids, so you all keep fighting
our life is worth the fight.
its fine with me
to put my email and name posted to my story, iam not hiding
from this, i want people to know, i didn't know i had hep
c, my reg doc. i had did test done, all came back normal,
i had quit my job as a med tech in assisited living, maybe
stress from my jos duties, i was still feeling tired, no energy,
headaches, then one day there was a aides and hep c day and
you could get tested, so i did, in 1991 i had gone back home
to calif. to help my cuz.in his final stage of aides, i took
care of him till he died, maybe i had got aides, nope came
back clear of hiv but did came back positive with hep c, blew
my mind, my count was high 3.5 billon, it took me a year to
decide to go on tx. glad i did, cause now i am undected now,
hate the side effects, but its working. oh when i called my
doc from my old job and told her i had hep c, i asked her
why it didn't show up, reply was i never tested you for hep
c. so its important when your doc test your blood ask for
the hep c test, i would have never knew i had it if i didn't
to the test for aides and hep c. there are so many of us out
there that have it and others that have it and don't even
know they have it. lets keep our faith up and deal with this
dragon. peace to all.
