Your donation to HepCnet
will help be used to help members with HepC with various expenses
incurred by their illness and/or treatment. HepCnet Inc is a valid
Charitable Organization (Public Charity) with a 501 (c) (3) status.
All contributions are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code.
We are qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers
or gifts under section 255, 2106, or 2522 of the Code.
In our long experience
with Hepatitis C infected individuals, we have seen so many suffer
from the loss of income that is often associated with a chronic
illness, or the inability to work due to the side effects of treatment,
and have been able to give many a helping hand thanks to the generosity
of our members. We have arranged to have utilities paid and turned
back on, sent money for the most basic needs, such as food and shelter,
and helped with medical expenses. Our purpose is not to care for
our members long term, but to give them a helping hand until a permanent
solution can be found. We have also provided help with funeral expenses
when a member passes away, and been able to help their families
get back on their feet. We have a board of directors that meets
and oversees the distribution of funds. We pay utility shutoff bills
directly to the provider, and if food is needed, will send a food
voucher. We fully verify that there is a valid need for our help
before spending any of your hard earned money. We use a minimal
amount to fund the operation of the website, but that is always
secondary to the needs of our members. Our organization is open
for review as are all public organization records.
If you make a donation
and would like a receipt for tax deductible purposes, just indicate
that when you make the donation. We are happy to comply.
For the time being we
are only accepting requests for assistance from our members or from
someone referred by a member. In the event of a large bequest, we
may be able to help more people, but for now, must limit our charity
to the generosity of our members, who are struggling themselves
in most cases. Many giving small amounts can make a big difference
to people in crisis.
